West Humboldt Park Photovoice Needs You!

Do you enjoy photography? Would you like to learn more about photography? Are you passionate about your community? If you answered yes to any of these questions then the West Humboldt Park Photovoice project needs you!

During the month of August we will be working with a group of 10 youth, age 12 to 17 and a group of 10 adults, age 18 or over on a photography project called, photovoice. Photovoice is a way to tell a story though photography.

Each Tuesday in August we will gather at the Richard M Daley library to learn photography and story telling skills. We will travel through the West Humboldt Park neighborhood capturing pictures that inspire and motivate us. We will learn from each other about places in the community that bring us stress and places that bring us peace.

At the end of the project we host an exhibition event where the pictures that you have captured will be professionally displayed. Friends, family, community members, and legislators will be inspired by your work. We will award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place photos.
